Several Haskell Indian Nations University graduates and faculty members will give a presentation about an oral history exhibit they created.

The event will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Haskell Cultural Center and Museum.

The exhibit “Power, Place, and People: African American and Indigenous Stories” includes eight oral history interviews with discussions about race, identity, culture and ethnicity.

The students are now pursuing master’s degrees in the Indigenous Nations Studies graduate program at KU.

The exhibit will begin touring the state in April. It is part of the Shifting Borders national conference and research project funded by the Ford Foundation and the Kansas Humanities Council.
