Law enforcement report

¢ Police reported that someone again attempted to steal money from the cash drawer at the East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th St.

Police investigated a report that over the weekend, someone damaged the desk and cash drawer without taking anything. Police are still investigating $50 stolen from the drawer in early January.

¢ An employee at Jimmy John’s, 1447 W. 23rd St., told police that he got into a fistfight with customers who allegedly stole a bag of chips.

Around 2 p.m. Sunday, two men came into the business, grabbed a bag of chips and fled. The employee ran after them, when the two men began punching him in the parking lot. The two suspects then drove off in a white Ford Taurus.

The bag of chips was torn and tossed back at the door of the business.
