Poet’s Showcase
The Day Anna Nicole Died
Yesterday, a chemical
explosion; today, two more.
Black smoke fills Kansas City,
twisted, toxic debris.
New York fills with snow.
Merely, your face
on People, head turned
like a Cubist model,
as beautiful and blank as
suffering can see, a trapped
selkie, barking at the clapping
sailors on the wet deck.
