Two leaders in the Kansas Legislature expressed dismay that somebody at Kansas University could have made the error that required KU to spend $100,000 to gain clear title to an airplane it had purchased nearly two years earlier. Most displeasure was expressed by Mike Hayden, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. Chairman Paul Hess of the Senate Ways and Means Committee said, “I think it’s unfortunate and sloppy. I would think somebody’s neck is on the line.”
