City Commissioner Tom Gleason who had sent a letter asking City Manager Buford Watson to resign or face firing said he would not leave his commission post. Two former mayors, Fred Pence and Marnie Argersinger were calling for Gleason to quit. Ex-commissioner Ed Carter was also calling for Gleason to leave and said a petition drive for a recall vote was likely.

The school board was considering using Saturday class schedules for makeup days for sessions canceled by bad weather.
