Trouble on boards trips up Veritas boys
Olathe ? A big rebounding disparity finally caught up with the Veritas Christian boys basketball team Tuesday night, as the Eagles watched a tight contest steadily give way to a 57-46 loss to Olathe Berean Christian.
“They outrebounded us the entire game. … I think being outrebounded hurt us, and not getting good looks on our offense,” said Veritas assistant coach Gary Hammer, who directed the Eagles in place of head coach Doug Bennett, who didn’t make the trip due to illness.
Michael Kay scored 14 points to lead Veritas (2-17), and Micah Barclay added 12.
The Eagles will travel to Belton (Mo.) Heartland on Saturday.
