Voter message

To the editor:

I have just read about President Bush’s latest request for funds to support his war. This outrageous request will cost every man, woman and child $800 and require cuts in Medicare and Medicaid. This last year the voters – Republicans and Democrats – did the impossible by electing enough Democrats to control the House and the Senate. It was a very loud and very clear message that we could no longer tolerate George Bush’s dictatorship.

But Bush and Cheney didn’t listen and said, “We don’t care what the people in America or Iraq want, we are going to feed more bodies into this meat grinder.”

I am no longer surprised by anything these jokers do. What does shock me is that the people we sent to Washington cannot, or will not, do everything possible to take our country back. They don’t seem to have the courage to stand up and say enough is enough.

We do have justification for impeachment:

¢ Secret torture prisons in Eastern Europe.

¢ Thousands of Blackwater mercenaries.

¢ Billions of dollars spent on no-bid contracts let out to their old-boy network.

At the very least, it might get their attention.

E. Kent Hayes,
