Lincoln, Neb. ? Kelsey Griffin scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead No. 22 Nebraska past No. 13 Baylor, 76-67, on Saturday.

Nebraska opened the game with a 16-2 run and never trailed.

Baylor cut the Huskers’ lead to one at 32-31 with 3:03 remaining in the first half. But that was as close as the Bears could get. Baylor, shooting 45 percent this season, was held to 32 percent shooting.

Leading 38-33 at halftime, Nebraska took control with a 15-4 run to open the second half.

Baylor cut the lead to 10 on Bernice Mosby’s free throws with 10:37 left.

Mosby, the Big 12’s second-leading scorer, had just 3 points – 16 under her season average. Nebraska’s Danielle Page played a key role in the defensive effort, blocking a school-record nine shots.

Angela Tisdale led Baylor with 18 points. Danielle Wilson had 14 points for the Bears, Latara Darrett finished with 11 points and Jhasmin Player added 10 points.

Kiera Hardy had 19 points for Nebraska.

Texas 61, Kansas State 34

Manhattan – Tiffany Jackson and Erneisha Bailey scored 12 points each to lead the Longhorns and break the Wildcats’ 15-game winning streak in Bramlage Coliseum.

It was Kansas State’s lowest scoring game since Big 12 Conference play began in 1996-97 and the Wildcats’ worst loss ever to Texas.

The Wildcats, who have lost five of their last six games, shot 25.5 percent (14-for-55) and had 17 turnovers.
