York, Neb. ? Kortney Smith scored 19 points and pulled down six rebounds to leadthe Haskell Indian Nations University women’s basketball team to a 76-63 victory against host York on Saturday.

Margaret Stevens added 17 points for the Fightin’ Indians, while Shara Brown chipped in 11 in a balanced scoring effort. The Indians also suffered just eight turnovers.

“We’ve never won here before,” Haskell coach Phil Homeratha said. “Kortney Smith had the offensive game of her life. She did a good job of running the show, even on a sore knee.”

Haskell (11-13) will entertain Peru State on Tuesday at Coffin Complex.
