Faith in careers focus of Ottawa event

Alumni and other professionals will speak about how they use faith in their jobs during an event Tuesday through Thursday at Ottawa University.

The events, dubbed “Adventures in Faith,” start at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the OU chapel annex, where speakers will discuss the option of Christian ministry with married couples or couples who soon will be married.

Also at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Mowbray Union, Brian Hansen, a former NFL player and state director of the South Dakota Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will give a presentation.

On Wednesday, featured speakers will spend the day visiting classrooms to discuss their experiences. Additional speakers confirmed to attend include Alan Cunningham, a local educator and musician; Lucky DeFries, an attorney and OU board member; Gary Hailes, national director of sales for WHB Radio 810; trustee Joel Ma and his wife, Mila; and the Rev. James McCrossen and his wife, Dottie.

The presenters will converge with a presentation at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the meeting of Christian Faith in Action. The events end Thursday at the 11 a.m. chapel service, where presenters will talk about what they learned from their experiences with OU students.
