Eagles come up short in Olathe

? Veritas Christian’s Micah Barclay scored 17 points, and teammate Michael Kay added 16, but it wasn’t enough as the Eagles dropped a 68-54 decision to Olathe Christian in Friday night’s boys basketball contest.

Veritas (2-16) fell behind, 31-21, at halftime and could never recover, despite converting 17 of 19 attempts from the free-throw line.

“Our guys keep improving,” Veritas coach Doug Bennett said. “We’ve made huge strides since early in the season. We’re improving even though our record doesn’t show it.”

The Eagles will return to action Tuesday at Olathe Berean Christian.
