Cardinals in control at tri-meet

? The Eudora High wrestling team used sheer numbers and dominating performances on the mat to win twice during a three-team meet Thursday at Anderson County, beating the host school, 45-25, while also earning a 66-12 victory against De Soto.

Due to a large number of forfeits, Eudora’s Kyle Scrimsher was one of few Cardinals able to wrestle in bothcontests. He won both of his matches at 145 pounds, using a pin in his De Soto bout and earning a 9-4 decision in his Anderson County victory.

John Chumbley (103 pounds), David Westerhouse (152), Loni Ogden (189) and Jonathan Morrison (215) recorded pins against De Soto.

Cody Salzman (103), Gage Ham (160) and Jake Love (171) each earned pins against Anderson County.

Eudora will return to action next Thursday at Paola.

Santa Fe Trail 38, Baldwin 35

Baldwin City – While each team recorded three pins, the Chargers earned eight individual victories compared to six for the Bulldogs to eke out the win.

Chase Wells (125 pounds), ChrisEwing (171) and Jake Kober (215) earned pins for Santa Fe Trail (17-4).

Nick Rockhold (119), Sam Wilson (152) and Josh Wood (189) had pins for Baldwin (6-3).
