Texas takes out No. 9 Oklahoma, 67-62

February 1, 2007

— Texas senior forward Tiffany Jackson was stretched on the ground, clutching her right leg and moaning.

Even so, she was probably smiling through the pain.

Jackson wasn't injured, just exhausted and cramping up after a ferocious head-to-head battle with Oklahoma super sophomore center Courtney Paris.

Jackson scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Texas to a 67-62 win Wednesday night, sending the No. 9 Sooners to their second straight loss after they had won 26 in a row in the Big 12.

Paris had 25 points and 18 rebounds in a typically dominating performance - she has 48 consecutive double-doubles - but she had just five points in the first half when Texas seized control of the game.

No. 13 Baylor 71, Missouri 70

Waco, Texas - Jhasmin Player scored a season-high 21 points, Bernice Mosby added 17, and Baylor held off Missouri.

Rachel Allison added 10 points for the Bears (19-3, 6-2 Big 12).

EeTisha Riddle paced Missouri (14-7, 2-6) with 26 points. Alyssa Hollins added 19.

Mosby missed the front end of a one-and-one with 12 seconds left, but the Tigers couldn't capitalize.

No. 22 Nebraska 62, Iowa State 49

Lincoln, Neb. - Kelsey Griffin had 15 points and a key layup to help Nebraska break open a tight game midway through the second half and pull away for a victory over Iowa State.

Keira Hardy added 14 points for Nebraska (18-4, 6-2 Big 12), and Jelena Spiric scored 11.

Toccara Ross led Iowa State (16-6, 4-5) with 14 points, and Megan Ronhovde had 13.
