Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for Dec. 30, 1907: Ed Anderson bought out Elmer Myers’ restaurant Saturday. This is the third time he has purchased the business and twice he has made it a success. It is probable that Ed Anderson has made more money out of the restaurant business than any other man who has ever been in that field in Lawrence. : The members of the Grant Township Central Protection Agency had a social event recently since there are few horse thieves and rustlers to deal with these days. : A widow living near McLouth recently deposited $910 in exchange for her bunch of chickens. A man apparently ‘took” the chickens during the night and left a roll of bills worth $910.”
