4-H News

The monthly meeting of the Clinton Eagles 4-H Club was conducted Dec. 9 at the Clinton church.

Kahlyn Heine, president, called the meeting to order. Song leaders Connor Shuck and Amanda Snodgrass led the club in Christmas carols.

Members answered roll call by naming the favorite person to whom they are giving a gift. Denise Snodgrass informed the club that they would not be going caroling because of the weather. Instead, individual families delivered gift boxes to the houses where members had planned to carol.

Secretary Delaney Dieker read the minutes of the November meeting, which were corrected and approved. Treasurer Dustin Hoyt gave his report. Reporter Morgan Manger said that the report had been submitted.

Community leader Lanaea Heine told the club about upcoming events: the Livestock Extravaganza, set for Dec. 27, the beginning Livestock Judging Expo on Jan. 5, the Project Skill-a-thon on Jan. 21, regional KAA judging on Jan. 24, County Club Days on March 1, and Regional Club Days on March 15.

Beef leader Steve Dieker reminded members about Beef Days, which was planned for Dec. 15. Denise Snodgrass, Festival of the Trees leader, informed the club that Medical Arts Pharmacy purchased the tree decorated by the club.

Members said the club pledge and motto, and the meeting was adjourned. Members ate and had a gift exchange after the meeting.

The next meeting is planned for Jan. 28 at Wakarusa Valley School.
