For the holiday travel season, Babies "R" Us is offering tips to parents hoping for a silent night in the air or on the road.
¢ First, plan ahead. Send a safety checklist to the home to which you are traveling. If traveling by plane, shipping presents and other items beforehand will make navigating airports much easier.
¢ Try to plan your traveling around when your baby might be sleeping and purchase a separate plane ticket for your baby so you can place him or her in a car seat or carrier.
¢ Take extra clothing for you and your baby, and don't forget that favorite teddy bear or blanket. Don't leave home without medical information, emergency phone numbers or a first-aid kit.
¢ No-spill cups and containers as well as wet wipes will make traveling a little cleaner.
¢ When picking toys, choose ones that can be tethered to a car seat or carrier. Also, a new toy will keep a baby busy longer as he or she discovers all of its features. If you don't feel like buying new toys, keeping some of his or her favorites out of sight weeks before your trip should have the same effect.
