No. 9 Sooners stop Spartans

? Amanda Thompson had 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead a balanced attack and help No. 9 Oklahoma overtake No. 21 Michigan State, 66-55, on Sunday.

Courtney Paris had 13 points and 14 rebounds to stretch her NCAA-record streak of double-double performances to 68. The Sooners (7-2) broke a 53-53 tie with a 13-2 closing run.

Ashley Paris, Courtney’s twin sister, and Danielle Robinson each had 12 points for Oklahoma, which trailed by 11 at halftime. Jenna Plumley added eight points, including a tiebreaking three-pointer.

Courtney Davidson came off the bench to lead the Spartans (7-3) with 18 points. Alisa Wulff had 14 points and was 4-for-5 from three-point range. But 6-foot-9 Allyssa DeHaan was held to 10 points and five rebounds, well below her season averages.

No. 5 Stanford 87, No. 10 Baylor 63

Stanford, Calif. – Stanford’s Candice Wiggins scored 21 of her 35 points in the first half, had four steals and four rebounds, three assists and two blocks, and Stanford dealt Baylor its first defeat of the season.

No. 20 Texas 76, Louisiana-Lafayette 43

Austin, Texas – Carla Cortijo led Texas’ up-tempo offense, scoring 14 points and adding seven assists.

Texas (8-2) struggled to find its shooting rhythm in the first half, but opened the second half with a 21-12 run to build an insurmountable 59-35 lead.

Kansas State 90, Texas State 52

Manhattan – Kimberly Dietz scored 22 points, and Marlies Gipson added 15 points and 10 rebounds.
