¢Karen McMackin, 45, of Tonganoxie, is in stable condition after being flown by air ambulance to Kansas University Hospital Friday evening following a three-vehicle accident.

The accident occurred about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of 31st Street and Nieder Road. According to a Lawrence police report, McMackin was the passenger in a red Chevrolet. Ronnie McMackin, 59, Tonganoxie, was the driver. The vehicle was westbound on 31st Street and was turning left onto Nieder, failed to yield to an oncoming Acura sport utility vehicle and the two vehicles collided, according to the report. The Chevrolet then spun into another car.

Ronnie McMackin and the driver of the SUV, Megan Drew, 20, of Leesburg, Va., were taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Both were treated and released.
