Old Home Town - 25 years ago

Warm Hearts, the local fund drive to help the community's elderly and needy pay winter heating bills, breezed past its goal of $25,000 in less than two weeks, and contributions were still coming in. The project was started by State Rep. Jessie Branson, D-Lawrence, and the Rev. Al Bramble. The current total was just under $30,000, and it was expected that the final figure would be $35,000 or more.
