A Topeka-based entertainment firm was seeking about $2.2 million in industrial revenue bonds from the city of Lawrence to buy and restore the Lawrence Opera House, 642 Mass., and turn it into a national school for entertainers. Representatives of the Entertainment Connection, a firm that booked performers for hotel and motel lounges across the country, were to meet with the city commission for a study session.
