Three new Kansas University buildings valued at $2.5 million were to be in use by spring – the Kenneth Spencer Research Library, the printing service building and the geological survey building.

Robert Malott, widely known Kansas University alumnus, was elected executive vice president of the worldwide FMC Corp. He was the son of former KU Chancellor and Mrs. Deane W. Malott and had grown up in Lawrence.
