Police policies relating to individuals’ complaints against other persons, youth gatherings, noisy groups and individual policemen’s conduct were explained by Lawrence Police Chief William Troelstrup at a meeting of the Human Relations Commission.

Robert Fluker, a native Kansan who since 1962 had been U.S. economic minister to Thailand, came back with his daughter, Jameela, to enroll her at Kansas University. Fluker was the top 1942 honor man when he graduated from KU, and he had been a Jayhawk basketball player.
