Three KU students still in hospital

Lawrence police still working on accident report

Three Kansas University students remain hospitalized Wednesday in Kansas City, Kan., after an accident early Tuesday morning near campus.

Bob Hallinan, a Kansas University Hospital spokesman, said Daniel Tuttle, Olathe, was listed in serious condition, and Tyler Duncan, Lawrence, was in fair condition. A condition report on Amber Henke, Downs, was not available due to the hospital’s patient privacy policy, Hallinan said.

Lawrence police have said the five people involved in the one-car accident were 18-year-old residents of Oliver Hall. Police have not yet released an accident report.

About 1 a.m. Tuesday, Nicholas Dutoit, Olathe, lost control of the Ford Mustang convertible he was driving south on Naismith Drive, police said in a statement. The car slammed into a tree near 19th Terrace.

Dutoit and a back-seat passenger, Christopher Hong, Lawrence, were treated and released Tuesday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Henke and Tuttle, who were ejected from the car, also had been passengers in the back seat. Duncan, who was the front-seat passenger, initially was taken to LMH, but then was transferred to KU Hospital.
