A smoke scare? Can you actually call that in? "Yes, I'd like to report a smoke scare..."

On another subject, I guess that guy wishes he bought the next size bigger safe... doesn't do you too much good when someone can just take it and walk off...

...makes me wonder...just what kind of smoke...MUST have been scary.

and th' safe story? friend of mine had an old hardware store safe, 3 1/2 feet tall, by three feet square, and some rather enterprising "bandits" stole THAT while he and family were on vacation. apparently, size doesn't seem to matter, if crooks ar determined enough...and the joke was on them...they tried pretty much everything, and couldn't open same, so then they TRIED to dump it in a pond, got their truck buried-up stuck, and were busted for their effort(s)...truly stupid people out there.

There were five or so police cars, a police SUV and a Ambulance on the shoulder of K-10 East bound, just before the Eudora exit at about 7:30pm Thursday night. I know that at least one of the police vehicles came from Lawrence.
