Old Home Town – 25 years ago
On the surface, things were due to look about the same when Kansas University students returned for the fall semester. But on the inside, there were likely to be some noticeable changes. During the summer, the state had announced a projected $47 million funding shortfall and had called for all agencies, KU included, to cut back 4 percent on spending. That meant $3.17 million stripped from the KU coffers in short order.
