The Lawrence chapter of the March of Dimes plans a fundraiser this week to help support research to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

The organization will host a Jail & Bail event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Montana Mike’s Steakhouse, 1015 Iowa. The event will involve “jailing” prominent Lawrence residents inside the restaurant. The participants are released once they raise enough “bail” money from members of the public.

The public can stop by the restaurant to make contributions.
