The Tigers, who had the best record in baseball July 21, have lost five in a row and nine of their last 10.

Blue Jays 4, Rangers 1

Toronto – Matt Stairs doubled three times and drove in two runs, and Dustin McGowan won his third straight decision as the Blue Jays completed a three-game sweep.

Orioles 11, Devil Rays 3

St. Petersburg, Fla. – Erik Bedard overcame a slow start to win his eighth straight.

Red Sox 9, Mariners 2

Seattle – Manny Ramirez homered and drove in two, Josh Beckett struck out nine, and Boston won for the fourth time in five games.

Manny Ramirez hit his 19th home run of the season off Miguel Batista in the fifth.

Angels 4, Athletics 3

Oakland, Calif. – Garret Anderson drove in three runs, including the game-tying score in the seventh inning, as the Angels rallied to salvage a series split.

Casey Kotchman singled three times and drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh.

Twins 1, Indians 0

Minneapolis – Scott Baker and Alexi Casilla helped the Twins gain some more ground on their AL Central rivals.

Baker (6-4) allowed four hits in eight innings.
