You’re not supposed to burn green logs in the fireplace, but Duraflame’s logs are an exception.

The company has given its fire logs and fire starters an eco-friendly makeover by replacing their petroleum wax with a blend of waxes made from plant and vegetable materials.

The new logs light faster and burn with more robust flames, the company says.

The “bio-wax” is used in Duraflame’s 6-pound Xtra fire log, the 5-pound EasyTime log, the 3-pound AnyFire log and the Crackleflame log, as well as in Firestart and Quickstart fire lighters.

Duraflame products are widely available at hardware stores, home centers, grocers, drugstores and other retailers.
