Uribe’s slam powers Chisox

Detroit – Juan Uribe hit his third career grand slam, and Jermaine Dye added a solo shot as Chicago beat Detroit.
Josh Fields also homered for the White Sox, who dealt Detroit its third straight loss and ninth in 11 games.
Mark Buehrle (9-6) won consecutive starts for just the third time this year. He gave up three runs and seven hits in eight innings, striking out three and walking two.
Dye is 27-for-84 with 10 homers, eight doubles and 18 RBIs since the All-Star break. He became the first White Sox player with four extra-base hits in a game since Robin Ventura on July 19, 1991, when he hit two homers and had two doubles in Chicago’s 13-9 victory over the New York Yankees on Thursday.
Andrew Miller (5-5) left the game after four innings because of a mild left hamstring strain.
Orioles 3, Devil Rays 1
St. Petersburg, Fla. – Daniel Cabrera remained perfect against Tampa Bay, and Aubrey Huff hit another homer against his former team.
Cabrera (8-11) gave up a run and four hits in seven innings with one walk and three strikeouts, improving to 6-0 in his career against Tampa Bay, 3-0 this year. In his last 14 innings against the Devil Rays, he has allowed a run and five hits.
Blue Jays 6, Rangers 4
Toronto – Aaron Hill doubled home the go-ahead run in the sixth inning, and Roy Halladay struck out nine.
Toronto is 32-20 at home and has outscored opponents 41-9 during the winning streak. The Blue Jays are 54-54 overall.
With the score 3-3, Vernon Wells singled off Jamey Wright (3-4) leading off the sixth and took third when the reliever fielded Frank Thomas’ comebacker and threw the ball into center field for an error. Hill doubled to left, and Gregg Zaun followed with a two-run single.
Athletics 8, Angels 4
Oakland, Calif. – Vladimir Guerrero made a costly throwing error that led to a five-run eighth inning, overshadowing his second consecutive two-homer game as Oakland beat Los Angeles.
Indians 5, Twins 2
Minneapolis – Grady Sizemore homered and had four RBIs.
Mariners 7, Red Sox 4
Seattle – Yuniesky Betancourt had four RBIs.
