Lawrence ArtMarket seeking art vendors

Lawrence’s newest art fair series, the Lawrence ArtMarket, returns in 2007 as a European-style car-boot-cum-art-booth bazaar and is set to feature a melange of funky crafts and exquisite arts.

Located at one of Lawrence’s most visible landmarks, the Lawrence Visitor Center, the ArtMarkets will be take place every fourth Saturday between June and September, rain or shine. The dates are June 23, July 28, Aug. 25 and Sept. 22, and the hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Artists may exhibit and sell their work outdoors from their tents, under the venue’s trackside canopy or indoors; or, new for this year, directly from their own automobiles. The ArtMarket is open to all artists and artisans who create original artwork ranging from the weird to the wonderful. Eligible mediums include ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, metalworks, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture and wood.

Registration is due three weeks before each Lawrence ArtMarket or until exhibit spaces are full on a first-come, first-served basis. Spaces are limited and fees range between $45-65, depending upon location.
