A multimillion-dollar bond issue proposed the past January by a now-defunct Citizens Advisory Group was being reconsidered for a vote the coming fall. Included was a new fire station and perhaps airport improvements and a public swimming pool.
A $2.2 million Space Technology Building was to be built at Kansas University with the aid of a $1.8 million grant from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. U.S. Sen. Frank Carlson, R-Kan., informed the Journal-World of the welcome action.
