Seabury, Veritas battle on golf course

The Seabury Academy boys golf team took fourth, and Veritas Christian came in fifth Tuesday at the Veritas Invitational at Eagle Bend Golf Course.
Seabury’s Dan Simons shot the lowest score of any city golfer with 84, good enough for fifth in the field of 36 golfers. Bill Gibbs shot a 90 for the Seahawks.
Stephen May led Veritas with a round of 91 on the par-72 layout.
Wichita Sunrise Academy won the event with a team score of 320, including a 69 from individual winner Seth Haight.
Seabury shot 380 as a team. Veritas shot 398.
