Lawrence High School’s film and media department will present “No Child Left Unrecruited: A Documentary,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H.

The film explores how a little-known provision in the No Child Left Behind Act requires all public schools to provide the military with personal student information or risk the loss of funding. Additionally, the film examines how being included in the LHS student directory and/or opting in or opting out of being contacted by the military has many different consequences, many of which are unclear under current school policy.

The students have interviewed principals, teachers, students, parents, Superintendent Randy Weseman, Congressman Dennis Moore and a military recruiter.

The event is sponsored by the LHS Filmmakers, Lawrence ACLU and the League of Women Voters of Lawrence-Douglas County.
