Monk, author coming to Lawrence

Mingyur Rinpoche, an author and renowned teacher of Tibetan Buddhist meditation, will return to Lawrence for a series of events starting next week.

Rinpoche, a native of Nepal who is known for being one of the youngest meditation gurus in history, will speak on “Unlocking the Secret of Happiness: A Tibetan Experience” at 7 p.m. Friday at Alderson Auditorium in the Kansas Union at Kansas University. A book-signing and reception will follow.

He also will present a daylong meditation workshop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 28 at Ecumenical Christian Ministries, 1204 Oread Ave.

Finally, he will have a retreat April 29-30 at Wingert Farm, 693 E. 1250 Road. A $110 fee is required.
