De Soto man charged with meth manufacture

A De Soto man was charged Friday in Johnson County with three felony counts related to methamphetamine production.

Kris Zimmerman was arrested Thursday after Johnson County sheriff’s deputies received a tip that Zimmerman purchased large amounts of chemicals typically used to make meth.

Authorities contacted Zimmerman, who let them search his house, where they reported discovering more chemicals and paraphernalia normally used to make meth.

Zimmerman was charged with manufacturing illegal drugs, possession of a precursor – ingredients used to make drugs – and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on $150,000 bond.
