There continued to be growing awareness of safety crossings for the community after the death the previous year of a schoolboy at the intersection of Eighth Street and Kasold Drive. A stop sign had been placed at that three-way intersection and more stop signs and crossing guards were being contemplated for other possible trouble spots. Parents were in the forefront of the effort.
