Lawrence police are investigating a report of a robbery early Friday at Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwich Shop, 1447 W. 23rd St.

A 23-year-old store employee told police he was locking the front door of the business about 4:20 a.m. when two suspects approached from the west and kept walking toward him as he backed away. The employee said one of the suspects grabbed the business deposit bag from him, and both suspects fled west on foot.

The suspects are described as weighing between 140 and 170 pounds and standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall. They were last seen wearing black ski masks and black hooded sweatshirts.
