Eighteen churches will sponsor a Building on Faith house for Lawrence Habitat for Humanity.

Jen Flippin and her daughter, Forrest, will drive the first nails into their three-bedroom home during a ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday at 175 N. Comfort Court.

Construction is scheduled to be complete by June 30. This is the seventh home in Lawrence Habitat’s new Comfort Neighborhood, a 4-acre development in North Lawrence.

The Building on Faith house will keep the local nonprofit housing organization on track to land a $130,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Lawrence’s Habitat needs to build seven houses by the end of June and 10 by the end of January 2008 to receive the grant.
