Lawrence police arrested two men for an armed robbery March 31 at a convenience store.

Geoffry S. Beers, 31, and Justin L. Nichols, 34, both of Lawrence, were charged Friday with aggravated robbery for brandishing a knife at a cashier at the Kwik Shop at 845 Miss. and demanding money from the cash register.

They were booked into Douglas County Jail on Thursday.

Brenda Clary, Douglas County assistant district attorney, said at a hearing Friday that Beers had a felony drug conviction and Nichols had a robbery conviction and was on postrelease supervision at the time of his arrest.

Bond was set at $50,000 for Nichols and $30,000 for Beers.

They face up to 20 years and seven months in prison if convicted. Both are due back in court April 17.

Police have not said whether they suspect the two men were involved in other recent robberies at Dollar General, 1811 W. Sixth St., and the Conoco at 23rd Street and Haskell Avenue.

See, all this hassle and what did these two earn? A hundred dollars? A couple hundred? Even that much? Time to take the cable TV out of prison if it seems such a viable alternative to working.

"So that was Mrs. Lundegaard on the floor in there. And I guess that was your accomplice in the wood chipper. And those three people in Brainerd. And for what? For a little bit of money. There's more to life than a little money, you know. Don't you know that? And here ya are, and it's a beautiful day. Well, I just don't understand it."

Check these two loser out on KASPER. Haven't even been out on parole for a whole year. But, maybe the judge will allow them two weeks off to get their affairs in order if they are convicted, just like the child molestor.

And we just keep letting these guys out.

Damn, Beers. I know you've never been one to follow all the laws, but what the hell were you thinking? I'd hoped you'd learn a lesson 10 years ago. Guess not. Haven't you noticed you've always been caught?
