Law enforcement report

¢ The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report Sunday of gunshots being fired into a vehicle on Kansas Highway 10. The report was not made public until Friday.

According to a report, deputies received a call at 3:18 a.m. Sunday that someone had fired into another vehicle on K-10 east of Lawrence.

They made contact at milepost 9 with a 21-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man in the vehicle, a 2005 Monte Carlo, and saw several bullet holes in the car. No one was injured, said Lt. Kari Wempe, a sheriff’s spokeswoman. Wempe said a person who reported it had been on K-10 in a different vehicle but that the person left before speaking with deputies.

The man and a passenger told deputies they didn’t know the reason for the shooting, and no suspect has been identified.

¢ A 22-year-old Colorado woman and a 23-year-old Lawrence woman reported that a man followed them from a business while touching himself inappropriately at 1:55 a.m. Friday in the 700 block of New Hampshire Street. They spotted the man again in the 1100 block of Ohio Street. Police searched the area but did not find the man, who was described as a white male with a medium build, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall with blonde hair.

¢ A 27-year-old woman reported to Lawrence police that a 16-year-old male touched her inappropriately at 6 a.m. March 31 in the 300 block of Missouri Street.

¢ Lawrence police investigated a report that a beagle-collie mix on a leash bit and wounded an 8-year-old Lawrence girl on the lip about noon Monday in the 1300 block of New York Street.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 43-year-old Paola man reported 65 prescription morphine pills valued at $400 stolen from his vehicle between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

¢ 5200 block of Harvard Road: A 42-year-old man reported a Saab worth $15,000 stolen from his home between 11 p.m. Monday and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday.
