Dr. Aaron Stohs and Kelly Lynn-Stohs, Lawrence, announce the birth of their daughter, Adelynn Kate Stohs, born Sept. 18, 2006, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Maternal grandparents are Chuck and Melissa Lynn, Lawrence. Paternal grandparents are Lynn and Cheryl Stohs, Marysville.

Great-grandparents are Margueritte Pinnick, Eudora; Elden and Marjorie Lynn, Shawnee Mission; and Violet Buss, Marysville.

Jeanne and Harold Longaker, Lawrence, will celebrate their 52nd wedding anniversary Oct. 7 by taking a trip to Hermann, Mo.

Jeanne Whitebread and Harold Longaker were married Oct. 7, 1954, in Warrensburg, Mo. Harold has retired from the Topeka Police Department. Jeanne retired from the KU Police Department. They have five children, 10 grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

The Knights of Columbus Council 1372 has donated more than 100 boxes of cereal and 150 boxes of Hamburger Helper to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in the last two months. The church delivered the donations along with collections from parishioners for distribution among the needy.

Lone Star Church of the Brethren will have its annual Pancake and Sausage Supper at 5 p.m. Oct. 16. There is no charge, but a freewill offering will be accepted.

Brittnay George, Casey George, Kalli Keen and Quinton Keen, all of Baldwin, and Taylor Leach, Linwood, have entered cattle in the 33rd annual North American International Livestock Exposition, which will be Nov. 4-17 in Louisville, Ky. The competition is recognized as the world’s largest purebred livestock show.

The Lawrence Accredited Music Teachers Assn. presented a student recital Thursday at the Lawrence Arts Center. Students who performed were: Margaret Bireta, Maria Ferrara, Saskia Ferrara, Alita Joseph, Larresa Kelpin, Quinton LeBar, Grace Miller and Connor Thellman. The students represent the piano studios of Jean Drumm and Janet Hart Johnson.
