Haskell falls again on road

Three home games in a row may be just what the doctor ordered for Haskell Indian Nations University’s winless football team.

Twice the Fightin’ Indians have played on the road and twice they’ve suffered close losses, the latest a 7-3 decision to Friends University on Saturday night in Wichita.

Friends (2-1) scored on a 38-yard touchdown pass less than four minutes after the kickoff, then the Falcons were repeatedly blunted by HINU’s defense.

Next for Haskell are three straight home games, starting with a visit by Southwestern at 7 p.m. Saturday. Briar Cliff will come to town the following Saturday, then Avila will be at Haskell Stadium on Oct. 14 for homecoming.

Friends 7, Haskell 3
