Twins drop back in Central

— Daniel Cabrera took a four-hitter into the seventh inning, Brian Roberts homered and drove in three runs, and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Minnesota Twins, 7-3, on Friday night. Torii Hunter scored twice for the Twins, who dropped 11â2 games behind Detroit in the AL Central.

Minnesota cut a four-run deficit to 5-3 and had runners on second and third in the seventh before rookie Brian Burres retired Nick Punto on a grounder for the third out.

Athletics 5, Angels 4, 12 inn.

Oakland, Calif. - Marco Scutaro drove in the winning run in the 12th, and Oakland reduced its magic number to two.

Mariners 11, White Sox 6

Chicago - Richie Sexson hit two long homers, and Seattle scored six runs in the second inning.

Rangers 12, Indians 4

Arlington, Texas - Mark Teixeira and Michael Young each drove in four runs, and Gary Matthews Jr. scored three times.

Red Sox 7, Blue Jays 1

Toronto - Julian Tavarez pitched his first complete game in six years, and Mike Lowell homered.

Yankees 4, Devil Rays 1

St. Petersburg, Fla. - Gary Sheffield returned to the lineup for the first time since May 29, and made an impressive debut at first base.
