¢ Army Reserve Pvt. Garrett Jones has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises. He is the son of Gregory Youree, Boaz, Ky., and Wendy Jones, Lawrence.

¢ Air Force Airman 1st Class Jeffrey Craig has arrived for duty at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C. Craig, an aircraft electrical and environmental systems apprentice, is assigned to the 437th Maintenance Squadron. He has served in the military less than one year.

Craig, a 2003 Lawrence High School graduate, is the son of Stephen and Joan Craig, Lawrence.
