Kansas University’s Dole Institute of Politics will be host to a Constitution Day Forum titled “Judicial Independence” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the institute, on KU’s west campus.

The program will include a brief video of Supreme Court Justices Sandra Day O’Connor, Stephen Breyer and Anthony Kennedy discussing the topic, plus a panel discussion featuring Judge Deanell Tacha, 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals; Kris Kobach, professor of law at the University of Missouri-Kansas City; and Kansas Senate Majority Leader Derek Schmidt. The moderator will be Stephen McAllister of the KU School of Law.

The forum is part of the Institute’s celebration of Constitution Day and Civil Engagement Week.
