In an effort to introduce novices to waterfowl hunting, Wildlife and Parks is offering an instructional class on Oct. 7 at Marais des Cygnes Wildlife Area near Pleasanton.

The all-day class will cover use of decoys in water and in field locations, blinds, laws and regulations, waterfowling traditions and ethics, and duck and goose calling instruction.

The class will also provide shotgun instruction, and students will get a chance to shoot clay targets from a blind.

All ammunition, calls, books, supplies and lunch will be provided. Details and directions will be provided upon registration. The fee is $25. To register, call (620) 672-5911.
