Apparently there had been a settlement of all the lawsuits involved with a Baker University fire in 1976 that had claimed the lives of five young men at the Kappa Sigma fraternity house. Baker President Ralph Tanner said he was pleased to have the issues resolved and to have “this terribly tragic incident somewhat behind us, though we will never fully recover from this tremendous loss.”
