— It turns out the Baldwin High football team simply needed a home game to experience success in 2006.

In their home debut Friday night, the Bulldgos rushed all over Prairie View to collect a 35-0 victory at Liston Stadium.

Chase Abel notched a pair of rushing touchdowns for Baldwin (1-2). Sam Beecher and Blake Wieden also had scoring runs.

"I owe it to our fans and the Bash. It got our kids ready," said Baldwin coach Mike Berg about the annual Bulldog Bash tailgating party that precedes the home opener. "We love playing at home."

Especially enjoyable was the new FieldTurf surface installed at Liston Stadium during the offseason.

"We loved the (new) turf," Berg said. "Our kids got a mouthful of rubber, but they will get used to it."
