Veritas went 1-2 at its season-opening volleyball quad on Wednesday.

Veritas lost to Kansas City East, 25-12 and 25-14, and to Topeak Ciar Paravel, 25-16, 15-25, 25-16, but beat K.C. Metro, 25-13, 25-15.

“The girls really came together,” coach Kyle Billings said.

Several Veritas players stood out, including Adi Willems, Kristie Tiegreen and Aileen Doll. Willems had six kills and 20 assists, Billings said. Tiegreen had 20 kills, 10 assists, seven blocks and seven aces. Doll thwarted offensive rallies with seven digs.

“She really helped our team out,” Billings said.
