¢ Road Race Champs: Lawrence’s Rychel Johnson and Dee Boeck won age-group championships in the Helen Gold 5K Saturday in Overland Park. Lawrence’s Jodie Smith and Karen Hyde posted age-group second-places.

¢ Golf Leaders: Jay Patterson and Van Reichert each recorded a 71 to share first place in Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club net tournament at Alvamar. Chris Small and Chad Roesler shot 73 apiece while Dean Hilker and Don Schulenberg carded 74s. Reichert, Roesler and Conrad Roberts shared the low gross score, each with a 73.

¢ IronKids Triathon: Youths ages 7 to 14 are eligible to participate in the Sara Lee IronKids Triathlon qualifier Sunday at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center. In the junior division, competitors will do a 100-meter swim, 5K bike ride and 1K run. Distances are doubled for the senior division. The national championship will be Oct. 1 in Tempe, Ariz.
